Did all that....

Hey Hi-Di Woman!
Did all that, several times over with all different archives, and there is not a box to write in. There are a couple of places that say "Post Comment", but they are un-clickable. So, I'll just keep doing a new post each time I guess.

Home Page

As you may have noticed not all the posts are on the home page now.... it seemed like too much on the page so I changed it to only show 1 day (the current day) of posts
All of the posts are still listed by title on the side under blog archive so you can click on them and view them from there

For PK and Ru...

So I am planning meals/food for next week and wondering what you 2 were thinking? Are we going to try and share some like before? So far I am thinking a night for each of these dinners: taco, italian, pot roast, breakfast and then lots o grillin ;-)

Arrrrgh!

First---how ON EARTH does one comment on someone else's comment?!?

Second---does Grandmommi's old computer still work? Does she need a new one? I'm willing to help if she does.

Mama's computer

I'm wondering if we could all pitch in for a new computer for Mama.

Finally made it!

Well, thanks to Heidi's help, I've finally made it onto the family blog! I realize now that it would have been better had I created my google account before trying to do anything else. That's where I got lost, wound up creating my own blog (!) and not beign able to move beyond that.

Thanks, Heidi, you little wizard you!

Now to catch up....

BTW, I'm not abandoning email altogether.

Lorelei??

Since Lorelei has deserted us via e-mail, is she blogging? Does she know about the blog? I miss her---hope she joins! :>

Wilma made it...nanny, nanny, boo-boo!

HA! I may, repeat MAY, have this figured out. Still don't know why it says "Post a Comment" at the bottom and you can't click on it. Confounded new fangled whiz-a-ma-thingys! What ever happened to phones, letters---heck, the Pony Express for that matter?!? Honestly.
;>
I dunno. I still don't see how this is easier than e-mail. I'm tryin' tho! :>

The Blog

Thank you Heidi for setting up this blog to communicate...as I sit here and hear my phone going CRAZY accepting new emails!

See you all soon!

How to blog

Copied from PK and Heidi's emails, assuming you have an invitation-to-author email from Heidi:

So, in theory, here's whatcha do...

Go here: http://thesturgeonfam.blogspot.com/

If it doesn't already log you in, go to the top right corner and click 'log in'. If it does log you in, at the top right corner you'll see you email address and "New Post" and "Sign Out".
After you log in, it might take you here: http://www.blogger.com/home
No worries, just click "View Blog" under "Sturgeon Family Blog" and you'll be back at the page Heidi put up.

So now, you should see a page with all of the topics or thread so far. Each one has a bold title and the first post that you can read (except the post Tavvy made about Wilma Flinstone, because she left the subject line blank ;) ). If you want to reply to one of those topics, you can click 'Comments' and read what everyone else has said so far about that topic, and you can comment something yourself at the bottom and add to it.

Now that you commented on it, you can click "Sturgeon Family Blog" at the top of the page, and go back to the main page of all the topics.

Update: I forgot to copy in Heidi's email. Here it is.

Ok for those of you who need help with the blog... this is how I do it and hopefully it will work for you too. I click on "sign in" in the top right corner (blue letters). Then I fill in my google account info and it takes me back to the blog page. Only now the top right corner has the option for "new post" (also in blue letters) Clicking on this will take you to a page where you can write your own entry and post it to the blog. Then others can comment on your post or create their own.

Now if you don't have this option, you may need to create a google account and/or then you need to become a contributor for the blog. I resent the invites to become an author for the blog. Look for that email...

Hope this helps some and thanks for those of you willing to try this out!
Heidi

This post has nothing to do with the reunion...

... seriously.

Wilma Flintstone

O.K. I'm for sure Wilma Flintstone. This was a huge pain for me to find!! It'll be nothing short of a miracle if I can get back on again! How is this easier than e-mailing??? BTW---did Kelsea's iphone explode yet?

Family Tree Fun

My first post! (so it's practice time ...)

I found this video because of a news service I follow. Since the upcoming reunion is all about family, this seemed to fit somehow, and so onto the blog it goes. Titled "Family Trees Can Be Dicey School Projects", in what most resembles a standup comedy routine, Nobel Prize winner Paul Nurse discusses his family history in a 10 minute Youtube video:

Here's more about the speaker, in case you'd like to know:

Water sports

I'm flying in this year, so I'm not bringing my sailboat, but I plan to try to rent a kayak. Anyone else want to join me?
Kathleen

Blog Authors

I sent an email to everyone (hopefully I didn't miss anyone) to become an author of the blog. Then you can post your own entries and comment on others. We can have up to 100 authors so everyone should be able to take part!

Welcome!

I hope this will be an easier way for us all to stay connected and communicate!
